Sculptural figure of a knight in armour with dragon crested helmet. Cast in spelter and standing on a turned wooden base. Dating from circa.1900-1910. 34.5cms tall and 10.4cms base diameter. In good condition with small loss to the finger and tip of dragon tail.
Some knights depicted like this may have been members of the Order of the Dragon (like most famously Dracula). Specific for Serbia, their epic poetry describes several of their folk heroes (and villains) as being descendants of dragons.
